Experimental study of CO2 and N2 adsorption on activated carbon

Abstract The present study as designed to assess the CO 2 and N adsorption isotherms on activated carbon (AC). AC was characterized with SEM, XRD isotherm. experiments are performed at 298, 308 328 K modelled by Langmuir model. preferred selectivity ( α CO2/N2 ) obtained use of properties Henry coefficient H found from virial equation. thermodynamic analysis which include entropy loss (ΔS), Gibbs free energy change (ΔG) surface potential (Ω) calculated. results reveal that order uptake is higher than . decreased increase temperature. values most important, while for least. parameters Ω, Q mathvariant="normal">st , ΔG ΔS impacted porous structure AC.The affinity spontaneity highest, has lowest spontaneity. Subsequently, exhibits a interaction AC, in contrast N2 displays slight interaction.the can be used capture improve efficiency devices.
